Introducing Competition in College

Competition is a thing of the past in college. Since the high school days are over students tend to forget that they are supposed to compete in life for better positions in the future. Consequently, the administration and lecturers do not see the need for competition in college as students are getting more of training rather than the basic elementary education which brings in the aspect of competition in the schooling system. With all respects to the level of maturity in college, competition would seem rather not worthwhile and would be a waste of time. However, in the previous levels of education, competition is what has been keeping students on their toes making them spend more of their time in reading books rather than wasting the same valuable time on drugs and other irrelevant activities.

Looking at colleges today, a lot of students do find themselves spending a lot of their time and money on drugs which drags them miles behind on academics. This is quite unfair to parents who invest their hard labor and more so the administration which ensures that it is versatile in its activities for smooth flow of the education system. Competition can be introduced in college through ranking of individual students and rewarding the students who get the highest ranks in college. Most students would not like it although the facts put across clearly that competition is the healthiest way of achieving academic success. Competition will keep students studying to make sure that professionals produced are fully baked. Competition also makes student conduct more research outside the classroom which is the onset of new inventions.
